CHISA 2028 · Prague · 27–31 August 2028
Terms and Conditions
Registration is not yet open. These terms set out the framework for future bookings; prices and included services will be available before you place a binding order.
Organiser and contact
The organiser and contractual provider of CHISA 2028 is Česká společnost chemického inženýrství z. s. (Czech Society of Chemical Engineering), Company ID (IČO) 00499692, registered office: Novotného lávka 200/5, Staré Město, 110 00 Praha 1, Czech Republic; registered in the Associations Register maintained by the Municipal Court in Prague, Section L, File 1461.
Congress correspondence, registration enquiries, cancellations and complaints: org@chisa.cz. Postal correspondence may also be sent to the registered office, marked “CHISA 2028”. The organiser remains responsible for its contractual obligations when using administrative or technical service providers.
Scope and congress dates
These terms govern use of the CHISA 2028 website and registration for the congress in Prague on 27–31 August 2028, including services expressly ordered from the organiser. They apply to the person or organisation placing the order and to participants as relevant. A person registering on behalf of an institution must be authorised to do so.
Registration and the call for papers are not yet open. The venue, prices, payment options and the exact services included in each category will be published before binding orders are accepted. This website does not currently accept registration payments. Simply visiting it, requesting information or submitting an abstract does not create a paid registration.
Registration and contract
Once registration opens, the order process will allow the customer to check and correct participant, billing and service details and see the total price before submitting an order with an explicit obligation to pay. A contract is concluded when the organiser sends an express acceptance of the registration by email. An automatic acknowledgement of receipt alone is not acceptance.
The confirmation will identify the booked services, price, payment deadline and applicable terms, supplied in a form that can be retained. Correct inaccurate details promptly by contacting the organiser. Access to paid services requires payment by the stated deadline. Before cancelling an unpaid accepted registration, the organiser will notify the customer and allow a reasonable additional period to pay. Special arrangements require express agreement; they cannot remove mandatory consumer protection.
How to register
- Complete the participant and billing details when the official registration service opens.
- Select the participation category and any additional services; check the order, price and terms.
- Submit the order, retain the confirmation and pay by the method and deadline specified.
Creating a participant profile alone is not a paid congress registration.
Fees, included services and payment
The price and currency displayed for the selected services at the time of ordering apply. The total payable amount, including applicable taxes and any compulsory charges, must be shown before the order is placed. No optional paid service is added without the customer’s agreement. The confirmation and invoice specify the accepted payment method and due date; use their payment reference.
Only expressly listed services are included. Travel, accommodation and optional social events are not included unless the selected package expressly says otherwise. Early bird rates apply until 30 April 2028, subject to the clearly stated ordering and payment requirements shown with those rates. Later price changes do not alter an already concluded contract.
Methods of payment
The available payment methods will be displayed in the official registration service. Follow the invoice or secure payment instructions; no card brands, payment gateway or bank account are guaranteed by this information page. Do not send card details by email.
Final invoice and billing details
Check the correct customer name, address and any tax identifiers before ordering. Invoices and payment documents are issued under applicable law. Report an error promptly so that a correction can be assessed; these terms do not exclude a legally required correction.
Cancellation and refunds
For contractual cancellation of congress registration, send your request to org@chisa.cz, identifying the participant and registration or invoice number. The following policy applies unless mandatory law gives you a more favourable right:
| Cancellation received | Refund of registration fee paid |
|---|---|
| By 16 July 2028, 23:59 Prague time, inclusive | 90% — 10% administration charge |
| From 17 July 2028, or non-attendance | No contractual refund |
These deductions do not apply to a valid statutory consumer withdrawal, remedies for defective services or cancellation by the organiser. Separately priced optional services may have different cancellation terms, which must be disclosed before ordering; the table is not automatically applied to third-party bookings. Refunds under this section will be made within 14 days after cancellation, using the original payment method unless another cost-free method is agreed.
Contact the organiser if another person is to attend in your place. Any transfer, eligibility adjustment and related cost must be expressly agreed before the change is made. Mandatory rights and rules on the fairness of charges remain unaffected.
Name changes and replacement participants
If you cannot attend, contact org@chisa.cz about a replacement colleague. A change is effective only after written confirmation by the organiser. Eligibility for the selected category must still be met. Any category difference or agreed administration charge must be disclosed and accepted before the change; no fixed name-change fee has been set for CHISA 2028. Replacing a participant does not automatically transfer an accepted scientific presentation.
Consumer right of withdrawal
A consumer is an individual acting outside their business or independent profession. For an online service contract, a consumer may withdraw without giving reasons within 14 days of conclusion, unless a statutory exception applies. Professional congress attendance is not automatically treated as a leisure service merely because it has fixed dates.
Send an unequivocal withdrawal statement by email or post to the organiser above; the optional model below may be used. Sending it before the deadline is sufficient. Refunds are made within 14 days of notification, by the same payment method unless a cost-free alternative is agreed. The contractual 10% charge does not apply.
If you expressly request services to begin during the withdrawal period, proportionate payment for services actually supplied may be due only where the statutory conditions, including prior information, are met. The right ends after full performance only with the legally required prior express consent and acknowledgement. Separately contracted catering, accommodation or leisure services on specific dates may fall under statutory exceptions, to be identified before ordering.
Programme changes and congress cancellation
Reasonable changes to speakers, session times or rooms may be necessary while preserving the agreed nature and standard of the congress. A minor programme change alone does not give a contractual right to a full refund; statutory remedies remain available.
If the organiser cancels the congress, the registration fee for services not supplied will be refunded without the participant-cancellation deduction. A material change of dates, location or delivery format will be communicated promptly; a customer who does not accept that change may end the affected contract and receive a refund for unprovided services. A credit or transfer to a later event will not be imposed instead of a refund.
These principles also apply where extraordinary circumstances prevent performance. Force majeure does not automatically entitle the organiser to retain payment for services not supplied. Refunds are due within 14 days of termination, without prejudice to mandatory rights. Liability for additional losses is assessed under applicable law.
Complaints and remedies
Report a service problem promptly at the congress registration desk or to org@chisa.cz so that it can be addressed. A complaint can also be submitted to the registered office. Identify the booking, explain the problem and state the remedy requested. Not reporting a problem immediately does not by itself remove statutory rights.
The organiser will provide confirmation of a consumer complaint and its resolution or reasons for rejection. Consumer complaints, including remedy and notification of the outcome, will be handled without undue delay and within 30 days unless a longer period is individually agreed. Depending on the circumstances, statutory remedies include rectification, a proportionate price reduction or withdrawal. Mandatory remedies for failure to meet the complaint deadline remain unaffected.
Visa requirements, travel and accommodation
Participants arrange their own travel documents, visas, insurance, transport and accommodation unless expressly agreed otherwise. An invitation letter confirms the purpose of travel only; it does not guarantee a visa or financial support. Visa refusal or inability to travel does not automatically create a contractual refund beyond the cancellation policy, but mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.
A booking made directly with a hotel, carrier or other supplier is governed by that supplier’s contract. Their costs are not part of the congress registration fee. Nothing in this section excludes liability which the organiser has under mandatory law.
Participation and safety
Participants must respect others, follow reasonable venue and safety rules and use their own registration credentials. Harassment, discrimination, unlawful conduct or serious disruption may lead to removal after a warning where appropriate, or immediately where safety requires it. Any financial consequences will be proportionate and determined under the contract and applicable law, not by an automatic forfeiture of all fees.
Tell the organiser about accessibility or dietary needs as early as possible. The organiser will discuss available arrangements and any limits before agreeing a specific service; no guarantee of a completely allergen-free environment is made without an express agreement.
Copyright and congress materials
Authors retain rights to their work and must have authority to submit it, including co-author permissions and permissions for third-party content. Submission grants the organiser a non-exclusive permission limited to reviewing the contribution, scheduling it and reproducing the submitted abstract and author details in the congress programme and abstract materials, including their online archive, with attribution. Any wider publication agreement will be presented separately.
Registration does not grant permission to commercially reuse another person’s slides, photographs or recordings. Recording a talk or publishing its slides requires the necessary permissions. Authors remain responsible for the scientific content; presentation does not imply endorsement by the organiser.
Personal data and photography
Accepting these terms is not consent to marketing, publication of an individual portrait or unrestricted use of personal data. Personal data are processed only on an appropriate legal basis for specified purposes. The organiser will provide the relevant privacy information before collecting registration data; these contractual terms do not replace that notice. Questions and privacy requests may be sent to org@chisa.cz.
Any official congress photography or recording will be announced with information about its purpose, legal basis and participants’ rights. Participation alone is not blanket consent to every use of a person’s image. Contact the organiser about photography concerns or an objection; any request will be assessed under applicable data-protection and personality-rights law.
Applicable law and consumer disputes
Czech law governs these terms, particularly the Civil Code, Act No. 89/2012 Coll., and applicable consumer-protection law. This choice does not deprive consumers of mandatory protection available under otherwise applicable law. No provision excludes liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to natural rights or other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Courts have jurisdiction under applicable procedural rules; consumers are not required to use an exclusive Prague court or arbitration.
If a consumer dispute cannot be resolved directly, the consumer may seek out-of-court settlement through the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce): official ADR information and application. A proposal must normally be filed within one year of first asserting the claim with the organiser. This does not prevent a court claim.
The version provided when the contract is concluded applies to that booking; later website edits do not retrospectively change it. English and Czech versions are available. Any interpretation must preserve mandatory consumer rights.
Optional withdrawal form
Use this model only if you wish to withdraw from a contract. A different clear statement is equally valid.
